Diagnosis Day

2 years ago today was when Dad dropped Mom and I off in front of the Overlook Hospital Cancer center.  I stopped in my tracks, looked at Mom and said "You didn't tell me I had cancer!"  Well honey we don't know that for sure, it's what we are here to find out.  I still remember sitting in Dr. G's office staring at my phone in my lap when he said I have good news and bad news.  The bad news is its cancer; the good news is it is curable and you will not lose your hair.  At least he being one of the best doctors was right about the curable part.  As for the hair loss, boy was he wrong!!! From there I kind of zoned out while Mom and Dad talked to the doctor about second opinions, how they need to start treatment ASAP etc.

On a happier note: Today is my cousin Clayton's 17th Birthday!! Love ya Dude!!!

1 week and counting

1 week left of winter break and I am beyond ready for it to end.
Everyone's left for school and I feel like Ramapo is the only school that has yet to start.  Therefore, theres no one to hangout with, texts don't come as often because people are in classes, and IM BORED!  I took a 3 hour nap today just because I could!
I know my schedule this semester is going to be hard and crazy, but I'd rather be that than bored out of my skull!

Came and Went

Mom's birthday came and went! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!  We had a nice day, I got to join her and her friends for lunch, and we went out to dinner as a family.  But on Mom's Birthday 2 years ago, I woke up at midnight, said Happy Birthday and fell back asleep.  Woke up that morning and had my brain biopsy.  At lunch Caryn and Mom talked about it, and remembered it as if it was yesterday.  We also finished the puzzle we've been working on!

I still have 8 days left of break, and needless to say, I am beyond ready to go back to school!

2 years fly by

Yesterday I woke up, went into Mom's room and said "do you know what happened 2 years ago today?"  She said it was a day she will NEVER forget.  2 years ago yesterday was when I was admitted into the NICU at Overlook Hospital due to the swelling the eye Dr found in my brain.  That was the beginning of a nightmare that we all wanted to wake up from!  But look at me now, happy, healthy and back in school (well on winter break but you get what I mean).  I guess time really does have a way of flying by.
Today it is too cold to even step foot outside so I will be in my room all day, or helping Mom take down the Christmas decorations!

2014

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve/Day!  I had so much fun with my friend Amanda, going out NYE and were bums all New Years Day!
What are everyone's goals for 2014?
Mine are: Getting my GPA up, having fun with my friends, family and sisters, having fun at school, MY BIGS WEDDING, and another amazing summer (hopefully with an amazing Summer Job)!

Oh and now its Snowing so I'm happy snuggled in bed; though I shouldn't have taken a 2 hour nap before dinner because now I'm wide awake!!

Christmas is Over Already!!!! :(

I finally woke up for the day, and I still feel sick!

But on a happier note, I finished my semester on the 20th just in time to be home for the holidays.  Me putting up the ornaments on the advent calendar and then Greg changing them.  

Christmas Eve came and Dad cooked my favorite meal; fish, and fried/breaded shrimp and scallops.  Then I went to bed early knowing when I woke up it would be Christmas!  I woke everyone up at 6:30 for present time!  I am so lucky, I got spring break in the BAHAMAS, and clothes and Alex and Ani bracelets!  

Then we ate and headed off to Saratoga to be with the family, and it was so much fun!  I am so lucky to have such a great big, gigantic family to spend the holidays with!  All the cousins arrived, we ate, and then we opened presents, or should I say our envelopes with our gift cards in them! Then as always later that evening I was the first one asleep, I went to sleep in the basement of the other house which had no heat!  So I then was up most of the night trying to stay warm!  The next day we went out to lunch before everyone headed home at Druthers, and my new favorite meal is Mac and Cheese topped with Panko breadcrumbs.  Then left at Grandma's was our family and the Hafers.  Needless to say when we left the next day, even though I was sick I am happy to be heading home.

Now home, Dad has been playing Dr, and taking care of me since I still feel sick; sinus infection!  As long as I'm better for NYE I'll be okay! Now I just have until January 20th to relax before heading back to school!
