HOME HOME HOME!!!

So after a few days of no sleep, last night was no different.  Last night I needed a blood transfusion so I was not a happy camper.  This morning I was up by 8 and ready to be sprung!   By 12 still no word so I got another bag of meds, then about 5 minutes in, YOURE SPRUNG...once this is over.  Good thing that was like 10 minutes.  By the time nurse Barbara came back, I had the covering off the port and all Barbara had to do was take out the needle!! Then now I am home, relaxing and watching television!
5 DOWN, HOPEFULLY ONLY 1 MORE TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekend is so not over :(

So it is Sunday,  and I really wish the weekend didn't have to end!!! But in reality what did I really do this weekend besides be let down about visiting school again, and watch lots of television while I suffered through my fevers. The main reason why I really wanted to go to SHU this weekend was because it was their Relay for Life, and my sisters were AMAZING!! However, in reality having a fever should not be an excuse and I am beyond tired of this effect of the chemo.  This weekend, I also finished the Hunger Games trilogy and cannot wait to get out of the hospital to go see the movie.  On the upside, I can look forward to going to CT to spend Easter weekend with the cousins soon, finally some fun and loving!  But this is treatment #5, and hopefully I will only have one more hospital stay after this....Cross your fingers!!!!!!!!!!!   Well I'm going to go enjoy my last few hours at home in my own bed and watch my own television.

Retuxin 3/23/12

This morning getting up wasn't easy.  I did finally, and off to Dr. Morganstein we went.  The only good thing about today was that I realized that its officially 60 days until my 20th Birthday! After our meeting with Dr.M, I went into the treatment room and got my Retuxin.  Today I thought the treatment went slower then ever!!  Finally we arrived home around 2, then I ate and napped until about 4:30-5 when I then got ready to go to the Country Club for dinner with the family.  After a delicious dinner, I came home and changed into pajamas then shortly after got a phone call from my cousin Sofi!!  Overall a pretty good yet tiring day so I'm going to read a little more of Catching Fire and going to sleep!!

Little Cousins!!

Finally!! Mom, Greg, and I ventured to CT to see the Moxham family!  The best part was the kids had no idea so when we arrived my little Teddy Bear was very surprised.  However, I don't think he recognized me with my wig on.  He immediately jumped on Greg and that's pretty much how it remained for the day.  It was really nice out, I was in shorts, but we played outside and awaited the arrival of the other 3 kids.  They too were very confused when they saw us....especially me with a wig on (they didn't know it was a wig!)  It was a whirlwind of activity and then before we know it, Uncle Scott arrived home, cooked dinner, we ate and then after dinner we left.  Greg listened to the SU vs. Wisconsin game on the way home, I listened to my iPod.  Now we're back home and I am catching up on TV,  then going to bed!

Lazy Day

What did I do all day...... I WAS LAZY!! Mostly because I had a headache, but yes all I did was lay in bed and rest.  While I was laying in bed I watched a bunch of movies! Greg even made me lunch, a quesadilla and he Burned it, so I was not too satisfied with his cooking skills.  Then I decided to start a puzzle of NYC, not as easy as it looked on the box.  Then I layed down some more and before we knew it, it was dinner time.  Chinese food for dinner, then back to my bed to relax.
Now I'm watching American Idol then going to sleep
Hopefully tomorrow I will feel well enough to go visit my little cousins in CT!!!!!!!

3/17-3/20

Well Saturday, I basically slept all day because I don't sleep well in the hospital.  Then on Sunday after being lazy and sleeping or watching TV most of the day, Dad comes in and asks if I wanted to come with him to the Country Club to help with summer camp sign ups! I went but it would've been even better if I could work there this summer! After a few hours around little kids, I went home, ate and slept.  Monday finally arrived, and I felt funny all day and kept telling Mom to get in touch with Dr. M.  Finally at 9pm, or around there, I still felt funny so I took my temperature and you guessed it the fever reappeared!!!   Now finally onto today, Mom went shopping with Michelle and Caryn, Greg went to school, I was lazy in bed and until Dad went to play golf, I had the "pleasure" of him appearing in my room every few minutes or hour asking what my temperature was.  Then later in the afternoon I came to find everyone at SHU has their lottery numbers and chosen housing for next year, SO I guess I will be living in the student lounge, library or in my car in the parking lot!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks friends for informing me housing was even going on! Oh and to top that all off, I still feel sick, and the port site is still in pain and black and blue.  Now being upset and cranky I am off to bed.

HOME SWEET HOME!!

After the 5:30-7 rally of nurses, helpers and what not, Mom and I were anxiously awaiting for the blood work to come back to see if I could be sprung!! Finally at around 11:30, one nurse poked her head in saying my number was 0.2, I COULD GO HOME!!! Immediately called Dad to come get us, but of course nothing at the hospital gets done very quickly.  Dad came, packed the car, made my Dr. apt for Friday and then still waited.  I still waited in the room waiting anxiously for the port to be taken out, and to go home!  Finally by around 2 we were on our way home!! Once we arrived home, I went upstairs and went back to sleep  By the time I woke up, dinner (surf and turf), was ready, so I ate, showered and am now back in bed watching Harry Potter!!
Now I just want to feel 100% so I have the ability to get up to SHU to see everybody!!

Bye Fever

HOORAY!!!!! Finally no more fever! Dad stayed with me last night because Mom had her corrective eye lens surgery this morning but took her sweet old time coming back to me! She wanted to enjoy the weather, have lunch with her friends and stop at the mall before coming back to me, but she did at least bring me back popcorn shrimp. After devouring the shrimp, she was wondering why I wasnt hungry, when dinner showed up about 20 minutes later. However, I wish I was going home tomorrow because my port is really starting to hurt!! Now watching American Idol with Mom Oh and I finished book 1 of the Hunger games and started Book 2!! That's it from room 322 Love, Sarah

Let the chemo begin!!

I have been here since Monday, but the chemo didn't start until today because of my fevers. But I cannot complain, at least it started. I just wish it started Monday so I could spend a little time in the nice weather. I feel like some sort of blood sucker because they have taken so much blood trying to figure out why I've been getting these fevers. Dad is here with me tonight, he's been here 15 minutes and is already asleep. But this time, Mom got me earplugs so I can drone out the snoring and sleep. Well it's time to get ready for bed, read more of the Hunger Games and go to sleep.

Burning Up!

Yesterday all was well, Grandma and Grandpa are here visiting and I got a visit from my friends Vicki and Laura.  Then last night I felt funny so I took my temperature 100.2.....UH OH. My solution, run into Moms room, wake her up and ask her what to do; her solution was go to sleep and we'll see in the morning.  Now this morning I was supposed to go see another specialist but plans changed.  I woke up Burning Up!! Put a text in to Dr. Morganstein and went back to sleep.  Dad went golfing, Mom and Grandma went to Target and I slept!! Dad came home from golf and cooked dinner, and now I am watching American Idol and then going back to sleep so I am a "happy camper" when I see Dr. M in the morning!!

DONE WITH STEROIDS!!!

Hello Everyone
Since I last updated I have gotten my other wig, which looks amazing and so real, finished my room, had some visitors and most importantly, Today I finished the steroid I was taking, so NO MORE MEDICINE AT HOME.  These past few days were fun, my cousins from VT, Rachel and Christopher as well as my Aunt Chrissy arrived for their 24 hour visit.  Today I finally got out of my pajamas, put on a wig and we went out for lunch, yet again I ate everything in sight!! After lunch they had to leave and have their 5 and a half hour car ride home, and Mom and I went over to the Ryan residence.  I hung out with Julie while Mom got her haircut.  Then when we got home Grandma and Grandpa had arrived!
Back to Relaxing in my own room because before I know it, Monday will arrive and Mom and I will be back in the Hospital for treatment #4!

HOME!!!

After a long day of waiting Dad and I finally arrived home around 6.  It was nice to see Mom, but mostly to just walk in the door felt amazing.  Of course the first thing Mom noticed is how one side of my hair is growing back and the other is not, so now I really cannot wait to get the wig tomorrow! But Dad and I did have an eventful morning,  I was washing up, felt dizzy and almost passed out again, but I knew I was just dehydrated.  So I laid in bed all day waiting for the lovely news of YOU CAN GO HOME NOW! Regardless I am home and could not be happier, as the saying goes "There is no place like home."  Now that I am home I am just catching up on television and enjoying not having something beep every few hours!
